Established in 1989, Sarhad Rural Support Programme, is a non-profit, non-government organization registered as a section 42 company under the Company’s law. As part of the RSP approach, it targets to promote community empowerment, and economic and livelihood development across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the newly merged tribal districts.
The project will provide clean electricity to over 4,044 households, 150 hotels and small businesses, while also cutting 7,200 tons of CO₂ emissions annually. By promoting renewable energy, the project will help tackle climate change and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
To restore education in the flood-affected districts of Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber and Mohmand, SRSP successfully implemented the Bringing Children Back to School project.
Communities residing in one of the remotest mountainous districts of KP have gained access to uninterrupted and affordable electricity. A 500 KW Micro Hydro Power (MHP) station has been established here, benefitting over 1,350 households in village Jaloo, Dassu, District Upper Kohistan.
To celebrate the achievements of 720 men and women who successfully completed skills and vocational training in leather bag making, Adda work, mobile repairing, and solar installation, a certificate and toolkit distribution ceremony was held at SRSP’s training center in Peshawar.

SRSP is the largest regional RSP working in 36 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including 8 Merged Districts. These areas face poverty, are hard to reach, and are often affected by disasters.
