Trainings Conducted

Plan Pakistan

SRSP entered with Plan Pakistan in to contract from September 2005 to April 2006.

The main purpose of this contract is to build the capacity of the Union Administration (Nazim, Naib Nazim and Secretary) under the local Govt ordinance 2001.

Project Areas: Seven Districts

Charsadda, Nowshera, Kohat, Hangu, Lower Dir , Upper Dir & Chitral

Project Purpose

•To increase Child Birth registration ratios to 70% at the end of the project.

•To aware the Union Administration from the Child Rights through Capacity Building in the Concerned area.

•To aware children from their rights through capacity building.
Nature of Assignment

  • Training of Union Council Nazims, Naib Nazims & Secretaries on UBRP
  • Duration: 2-Days Each Event in their own Districts
  • 1-Day Refresher Workshop
  • Total Events:
  • Total Follow up trainings: 23
  • Formation of the District Children Forum(DCF)
  • Training of the District Children Forum(DCF)
  • Follow up trainings of DCF

2- Pakistan Poverty Allevation Fund PPAF)

SRSP entered with PPAF in to partnership from 2001 till now.

The main purpose of this contract is to

  • Develop institutional and technical models for poverty reduction, sustainable, equitable and engendered development;
  • Raise the incomes and quality of life of people, especially the poorest of the poor men and women, living in its programme area.
  • Provide an effective and cost-efficient service delivery mechanism for the government and the donor agencies in order to reach the rural poor.

Project Areas : Peshawar , Abbottabad, Kohat, Chitral, Mansehra

Nature of Assignment :

  • Training of Communities and staff on PPAF
  • Basic Activist: 4 per Region in one year(2-Male, 2-Female)
  • Leadership and management skills training: 2 per Region (1-Male, 1-Female)
  • Manager Conference: 8 per region in one year ( 4- male, 4-female)
  • Experience Sharing Workshops for Networks: 4 per Year, 1- per quarter
  • Skills Development Training: 2-per region in one year

3: Barani Area Development Project (BADP)

SRSP has entered into agreement with BADP-II to implement its social mobilization component into seven out of eleven districts of NWFP.

The PLU-BADP-II approached SRSP to build capacity of the people at the grassroots level to become active partners in development.

SRSP having more than a decade experience in participatory development and HRD.

Level-I: Basic Course for Village Office Bearers (Men and Women):

  • It is a 3 days non-residential course designed for the Presidents, Secretaries and active members of the community organisations. It focuses on;
  • Program understanding and conceptual clarity ;
  • It also enhances the understanding of participants on other Programme components like micro finance, Productive investment, Social Sector, Small enterprise Development, Gender Concepts etc. so that smooth implementation of Programme can be ensured
  • C/WOs record keeping like how to minute the meeting, preparation of agenda, maintenance of savings and credit register, how to keep record of Community schemes;
  • How to develop effective linkages with line agencies and other organizations.
  • Two persons would come from each MCO/ WCO

Level-II:  Leadership & Management Skills Training for Village Activists:

  • It is a 7 days course designed for the office bearers and active members of the community organisation. It focuses in detail on;
  • Concepts of participants on development and development approaches; Rights Based Approach of Development.
  • Skills required for the activists like communication, presentation, planning and basic accountancy;
  • Salient features of Devolution Plan 2000 and formation of CCBs.

The participants of this training include one member from each W/CO. remaining

Level-III: Advance Training Course

It a 10 days course and the participants are selected on the basis of good performance in level-II. It is basically only for very outstanding activists at the district level. Some of the contents in this course are derived from level-II but with more detail while some of the topics are totally new. It also tries to build participants' capacity as trainers. This course is generally planned for those who would be acting as Social Organisers at their own to ensure the continuity of the MCO/ WCO even after the project period.

Manager Conferences

An efficient way of providing information to the communities is through Manager Conferences. Community members and representatives of all line agencies and other organizations/ projects attend such conferences. The line agencies disseminate information about their departments and the communities get an opportunity to express their grievances, thus making the linkages between the community and line departments more sustainable. The community leaders also exchange their experience of working with people by presenting their best practices. Its is a one day activity.

Nature of Assignment : Training of Activists of community on BADP -II

Basic Activist Trainings: Conducted at field level.

Leadership and management skills training: 14 - women, 23- men in all Districts

Advance Activists Trainings: 07- women, 11- Men from all Districts
