SRSP Human Resource Development Center Community Capacity Building

SRSP Human Resource Development Center: In order to reduce the poverty and promote sustainable development, SRSP makes great efforts towards institutional development and capacity building. This is done through harnessing people's potential to help them-selves by establishing a network of grassroots level institutions at the village level. With the above objective in mind, the HRD section of SRSP was established in 1996 with the primary focus to design and implement institutional strengthening and capacity building training for community leaders, activists, extension workers and its staff

SRSP researchers and analysts continue to be on the cutting edge of their fields, working with decisionmakers in both the public and private sectors to find solutions to today's difficult, sensitive, and important problems. The high caliber of our researchers is well-known, as evidenced by the many Nobel Laureates who have been affiliated with SRSP, either as employees, consultants, or in an advisory capacity.

Through our dedication to high-quality and objective research and analysis and with sophisticated analytical tools developed over many years, SRSP engages clients to create knowledge, insight, information, options, and solutions that will be both effective and enduring.

HRDC

Objectives of Human Resource Development Center

1) To improve the performance of SRSP staff and its community organization by maximizing the effectiveness and performance of the staff and community members, we are going to develop our knowledge and skills, our actions and standards, our motivation, incentives, attitudes and work environment. To develop the managerial and technical skills of community members.

2) To design & implement the managerial and technical capacity building training of community members, identified by their respective community organizations. to equip SRSP staff with the sound conceptual understanding of the participatory development and other managerial skills;

3) and lastly to provide training facilities to other government and non-government organizations, in the field of community organization and participatory development.

 

A Brief Glance at Human Resource Development Center

Human Resource Development Center of SRSP Based in Peshawar NWFP

The long journey on the road of development has developed HRD section into a full fledged HRD Centre, which can now be rightly termed as one of the state of the art training institute. The training institute is located in one of the posh areas of Peshawar ( Shami Road ), which is both near to the city as well as calm and quiet.

The training centre is equipped with;

• Highly professional staff and trainers • Residential facility for 25 participants, mostly on double occupancy basis All rooms are air conditioned as well heated. Apart from HRD Centre in Peshawar , it also has training facilities at its regional offices at Kohat, Abbottabad & Mansehra with skeleton staff. . Training for the professionals and communities are specially being designed to respond to their job requirements. With the passage of time and experience in the field, HRD Centre is incorporating new courses according to the needs and feedback from the previous training. HRDC has designed and conducted training in the following areas; Social mobilisation; Managerial capacity building of the community groups and their leaders; Microfinance; Gender & Development; PRA, NRM and Health Education. The client age of SRSP' HRD Centre include govt. projects like South FATA Development Project; Dir Area Support Project, Barani Area Development Project-Phase 1, Essential Institutional Reforms Operationalization Programme (EIROP). Among the NGOs and other international organizations, SRSP has imparted training to the staff and communities of IUCN, OXFAM, UNDP, DTCE, GTZ, Care International, Swedish Committee etc. Similarly SRSP has also remained involved in the capacity building of many NGOs in Afghanistan like MADERA and IRC etc.

  1. Capacity of 36,003 men community members enhanced.
  2. Capacity of 30,095 women community members enhanced.
  3. A Total of 66,098 members trained in managerial and technical skills. Earthquake Relief and Rehabilitation
  4. Total of 9000 members trained to meet the market demand for skilled people in Earthquake affected areas.

Major Achievements

  • State of the art Human Resource Development Center at Mansehra operational and offering services.
  • Human Resource Development centers at Peshawar & Mansehra ; source of income
  • Craftsmen training Unit acquired target of capacity building of 9,000 community members in earthquake affected areas.
  • Formation of District Children Forums involving children for the first time in selected 7 districts of NWFP.
  • Training of National and International agencies and partners & consolidating partnership with international partners especially in Afghanistan
  • Capacity building of Local Government in Child registration and sensitization on child friendly budgeting and planning.

Future Plans

  • Proactive role in Federal Administered Tribal Areas capacity building initiatives.
  • Find new donors for strengthening HRD systems and section.
  • Establishment of Training MIS
