Project Objective
The main objectives of the project is providing education to children as a step towards normalizing their lives keeping in mind the traumatic situation they have gone through.
- Assisting government in jump-starting of school physical infrastructure through a built in cash-for-work programme with communities
- Providing teachers (especially women) with a secure environment to teach.
- Providing psycho-social counseling to teachers and students in order to address the psychological aspects of the tragedy they have been through.
Project component
- Setting up of 10 shelter schools, in affected areas in Allai to enroll about 1600 children i.e. 160 children per school.
- A Cash-For-Work, community-based programme to clear debris of public education facilities for reconstruction of government schools.
- CARE will provide transportation and distribution of student’s kits, teacher’s kits and low wooden desks in 10 schools.
